Here are some photos from recent science school assemblies. The Spooky Science show was very popular in October. Every science show has up to 20 students to help participate “hands on ” on stage.
This month will mark the 11th consecutive year Getting Excited About Science was choosen for Hadley Middle School in Homer Glen, IL This is for the gifted 5th grade program. We will conduct 4 different science workshops. It is always amazing to see the children get excited with their science experiments.
In early November Getting Excited About Science will be have STEM workshops in Calumet City, IL. This will be the school’s second year doing this. We will be at the school all day with experiments for the entire elementary school
Each weeekend in September Getting Excited About Science will be performing at 12:30 on both Saturdays and Sundays at Santa’s Village in East Dundee, IL. The shows are 45 minutes and have lots of audience participation, fun and large science experiments. These shows are also great for adults. Last Sunday we had 8th grade science teacher (with their family) come to the show. We all had a great time.
Gearing up for many Space Science shows at libraries. The show covers the foundations of Astonomy and Space Travel. During the show there are many opportunities for children to participate and have fun. Getting Excited About Science has presented space programs for 20 years. My friend Bill Bosworth from Science Alliance is retiring due to health concerns. Over the last few weeks I have met with Bill and agreed to perform for most of his outstanding booked shows. We have spoken in detail of both of our shows. We compaired notes on most topics and I look forward to the shows and workshops. Bill is a great man with whom I have always admired over the past 20 years.
This summer Getting Excited About Science was performed at camps, libraries, park districts, and head lined many festivals. Some groups had hands on workshops, many shows were outside and we had lots of fun across Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
Cicero, IL had the show to kick off Back to School week. I will be perofming a show on the night of the solar eclispe and plan to set up my telescope with solar filter.
Early in September, school shows start with a pair of show near Detroit, Michigan. School assembly showcases start in early September.
