Palatine, Illinois school saw how simple machines are used in everyday life along with some large scale examples. The show featured a tug of war where 1 girl beat 4 boys, a 6′ Chicago Style Draw bridge, Giant Screw, shot put pendulum, wheels and a rocket car. This is the 6th time I have performed for this school.

Astronomy and my Dad
I used to own a big and heavy 10″ relfecting telescope that was 4′ long mounted on a heavy EQ mount. I used to love to bring it with me when I visited my parents house outside Cincinnati. On one visit my dad told me he and a neighbor where keeping notes on sunrises and sunsets. Today, January 4 has the latest sunrise of the year. A few years later my mom and dad took an astronomy class design for seniors in Arizona (my dad was 84 at the time). This is his chart.

Getting Excited About Science provided hands on science stations for students in Chicago, Illinois recently. The students watched a full science school assembly last semester and this semester they got a science workshop full of experiments.
