This summer was very busy with lots of library, festivals and club shows across Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.
This weekend will be 3 large back to school public science shows in Cicero, IL
Sunday, August 19 Community Park (25th and Laramie)
Monday August 20 Municipal Court Yard (50th and Cermak)
Tuesday August 21 Burnham School (163rd and 59th Ave)
All shows start at 6:30
My friend Bill Bosworth from Science Alliance is retiring due to health concerns. Over the last few weeks I have met with Bill and agreed to perform for most of his outstanding booked shows. We have spoken in detail of both of our shows. We compaired notes on most topics and I look forward to the shows and workshops. Bill is a great man with whom I have always admired over the past 20 years.
This week Getting Excited About Science was a Keynote a conference with over 1,000 students and 400 parents. Here is an article from the local paper.

This October there have been the school assembly science shows, but new this year is a series of shows for the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago for school field trips. This is a beautiful stage and historic building. Shows are October 21 and 27. October 21 is already sold out at the time of this post. Toward the end of October there are many park district and school Spooky Science shows including shows in Palos Heights, Minooka, Riverside, West Chicago and North Riverside.

This first week of January, 2015 has a gifted 5th grade science workshop. This marks the 7th year in a row I have been at this school and the secretary and a handful of teachers know me. Always a pleasure to see the “light” go on in students when the discover how an electric motor works.
Later this week I will be performing 2 assemblies to kick off the Science Fair at a school. Students will get their science fair packet at the end of the school day and will be encouraged to participate in the science fair. I also love to see the enthusiam of the students who are eager to get started.
This week I will be performing near Green Bay WI, South Bend IN, Warrenville, IL and then Mt. Clemens, MI. On June 11, I will be perfoming for 2 schools in Chicago. What a great way to end the year, with an educational science assembly. Summer programs start June 12.
Spring 2013 will mark the 5th straight year Getting Excited About Science will be presenting Forces in Motion at Milne Grove School. The show is about simple machines and laws of motion and features many large scale demonstrations including the rocket car. Way to go Milne Grove (5 years).
As part of the Earth Day Show, there is a segment on “Carbon Footprints” Just received a link to this terrific video about carbon footprints today and had to share.
Getting Excited About Science performs for many Catholic and private schools. Many school set aside one special week for activities for their students. I am honored to perform for many of them.
