Spooky Science anytime

This week I had a request for my Spooky Science show in January.   The teachers, students and PTA just wanted a fun science assembly and looked at what Spooky Science had to offer and asked for it.    Science is fun anytime, but Spooky Science does have CO2 smoke bubbles, liquid nitrogen,  static electric generators, elephant toothpaste and lots of weird science.    It was quite fun to perform and refreshing not to have this in the typical Halloween set-up.

Science Rocks & Fossils

These are a part ot a show for primary students where they wanted to talk about rocks and fossils.     Check out my fish, he came from Montana at the same site that US President Truman got his (which he later gave to the leader of Japan as a gift.)    Millions of years of history here on the bench.    Of course, the kids still like the shark’s teeth.

STEM and Primary Shows

This week will feature a STEM night show at a magnet school.    This will be my 3rd year at this school and I feel honored that Getting Excited About Science will be a part of it.   The week ends with pimary elementary shows with custom topics for the students.   Friday’s show is a repeat show at a Palatine school (5th year in a row there).    Even with all of these shows, I am looking forward the summer library shows.   I am bringing out different demonstrations to tie into the library reading themes and digging deep into science.

National Night Out, Will County Fair and Cicero back to School

Getting Excited About Science will be performing a large publc show for Burr Ridge, IL National Night Out celebration at 7:00 pm     I love performing for large public events.    Latter this month we will be performing for Will County Fair (3 days) and Cicero’s big public back to school festival (2 days).

Camp Science Shows

This week I will be in Wisconsin performing for organized school groups at overnight nature camps in Wisconsin.   These shows are an unheated auditorium with most of the students wearing sweatshirts and light jackets.    After the show, the students get to learn about wolfs and wild animals.    The nights end with a camp fire for the students.      This is the second year of performing for these groups in Wisconsin and I will be performing science shows for them Monday – Thursday and a special show on Saturday night for a different group and at a different campground.
